I learned a lot! November 7, 2019 Reply Reflected Miles Interesting video–thanks! In one sense, it is important for products like this to receive marketplace acceptance so that there is funding to advance development and facilitate mass-production methods. On the other hand, the manufacturing and assembly methods here are a significant factor in why the cost is so high. Even with all 100 Ah available, which will not continue to be the case over the life of the battery due to SEI and oxidation, etc., comparing them to a 250Ah AGM with a 7-year warranty for a little over 1/3 the price (using Fullriver as my example) takes some mental gymnastics to justify the purchase, particularly without that internal self-protection for freezing temperatures. (The Nissan Leaf's formulation seems to be the best with that, allowing charging to temperatures well below Tesla's and others' cells before having to internally warm itself.) I am curious how the Battle Born BMS handles high states of charge being maintained indefinitely at elevated temperatures, which is one of the most life-reducing conditions for these types of batteries. Personally, I think the best selling point with these apart from extended lifespan is weight, although that may actually be a negative for some folks if they need the extra 100+ lbs. of golf-cart types up on the tongue of the trailer for balance with weight further back and towing stability. November 7, 2019 Reply scott weatherby Your video helps reinforce reason why we want to buy these batteries. November 7, 2019 Reply Road Dog Media Nice work. And thank you for not "caving" to the pressure to excessively shorten your video for time. Some of us appreciate the extra information and detail November 7, 2019 Reply peterdement When will you know more about the upcoming self-heating batteries? November 7, 2019 Reply Jim Litz Thanks Matt & Diana! Another great video. We're planning to install 2, maybe 3, Battle Born batteries when we receive our new ORV 280KVS in March. November 7, 2019 Reply charlevoix418 Too bad, I would have like to see the inside of the battery before the cover is glued. November 7, 2019 Reply Jim Beletti Awesome video. Great to see this level of assembly in the US too. November 8, 2019 Reply Add a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
