Severe Storms Finish Weekend

DONATIONS TO CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS AND WE HAVE A LINK TO THEIR WEBSITE AS WELL AS CONTACT INFORMATION AT WWW.CBSDENVER.COM. WE ARE COVERING COLORADO’S WEATHER TONIGHT LET’S GET OVER TO METEOROLOGIST DAVE AGUILERA ON THIS STORMY SUNDAY. IT’S SHOW YOU WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE RADAR. A BIG LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS CONNECTED HERE JUST DOWN THE CORRIDOR INTO COLORADO SPRINGS AND WE JUST HAD A BIG HUGE WAVE GO THROUGH THE DOWNTOWN METRO AND THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE STORMS ARE THEY ARE MOVING 20 HI 30 MILES PER HOUR SO THEY ARE GOING THROUGH REALLY QUICKLY. IF THEY WERE SLOW MOVERS LIKE THE ONES THAT DUMPED ON HIGHLANDS RANCH THE OTHER DAY THEY WOULD HAVE MORE TIME TO DUMP MORE WATER AND MORE FLOODING. THAT IS ONE GOOD THING THAT IS HAPPENING HERE. DIA WE HAVE POCKETS OF HEAVY RAIN WITH THIS ONE RIGHT HERE AT PARK WEST DRIVE BIGGER THUNDERSTORMS EAST OF AURORA THROUGH PARKER. THIS ONE HAD SIGNS EARLIER IT MIGHT BE DROPPING HAIL NORTH OF I 70 AND I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF THAT IS SMALL HAIL COMING OUT OF THAT ONE RIGHT NOW AND THOSE STORMS ARE EXTENDING ALL THE WAY DOWN THROUGH PARKER AND THROUGH CASTLEROCK. THE GOOD THING IS THAT WE HAVEN’T HAD ANY WARNINGS OR LARGE DAMAGING HAIL. WE HAVE HAD WINDS UP TO 60 MILES PER HOUR AND A LOT OF LIGHTNING WITH THE STORMS. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS AROUND CHEYENNE AND THOSE COULD HAVE SMALL HAIL. ONE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING RIGHT NOW SOUTH OF MEEKER IN NEWCASTLE UNTIL 6 PM. PRIMARILY THERE ARE THUNDERSTORMS BUT THESE ARE PRODUCING 60 MILES PER HOUR WINDS. AT IF YOU LOOK AT THESE THOUGHTS THESE ARE THE REPORTS WE HAVE HAD ANYWHERE FROM 50 HEIKO 65 MILES PER HOUR WIND GUSTS OUT THERE. IN OUR AREA HERE WE HAVE A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 9 PM TONIGHT SO WE WILL BE WATCHING THESE WERE A COUPLE OF HOURS. ANOTHER GOOD THING ABOUT TODAY IT WAS COOL TODAY. WE HAD 79 OFFICIALLY AT DIA AND 77 IN BOULDER. THESE STORMS WILL STAY ALIVE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT OVER EASTERN COLORADO BEFORE MOVING OUT. TOMORROW MORNING WE MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE FOG AND CLOUDINESS THAT MAY SHOOT BACK AS CLOSE AS DENVER AND IN NORTHERN ADAMS COUNTY SO DON’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU SEE A LITTLE FOG. THEN IN THE AFTERNOON WE GET A WESTERLY FLOW AND THAT WILL CLEAR US OUT THEN WE DON’T HAVE ANY STORMS IN THE FORECAST TOMORROW AFTERNOON SO A MUCH MILDER DAY WITH TEMPERATURES TOMORROW 80s AND 90s TO THE EAST COST 70s AND 60s IN THE MOUNTAINS AND 80s OUT ON THE WESTERN SLOPES. TONIGHT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING THROUGH STILL A CHANCE OF SEVERE. LET’S HOPE THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN TONIGHT AND WE WILL BE IN THE 50s FOR THE OVERNIGHT LOW. 85 DOWNTOWN AND 83 AT THE AIRPORT MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND IT SHOULD BE A MAGNIFICENT MONDAY. 80s TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, A DIP THURSDAY DOWN TO 78 IN A FEW MORE STORMS COME OUR WAY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. OVERALL A DRYING TREND GOING INTO NEXT WEEK. IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL KEEP
