Talking Angela – Healthy Summer Ice Cream Recipe (and Other Vegan Recipes)


Did you know you can make an healthy vegan ice cream at home? It’s so good! And it only takes five minutes! It tastes even better than the regular kind! You have to try it. If you’re like me, you probably already have some frozen bananas on your freezer It’s so great in smoothies… If not, then the night before you make the ice cream… pop some pieces of banana in the freezer. When the time is right – in other words – when you want the ice cream in five minutes… Grab the frozen banana pieces from the freezer… and throw them into a blender. Or a food processor. Add a small amount of liquid. I like to use some plant-based milk, like almond or soy. A tablespoon of raw cocoa… and a bit of maple syrup. Or a couple of soaked dates. And, if you’re feeling fancy… you could add a bit of vanilla essence and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Then blend the mixture until it’s smooth… And enjoy. If you wanna kick the deliciousness up a bit… mis some cocoa powder and some coconut oil and melt it together gently… in a heat-proof bowl… set over a pan of boiling water… and drizzle it over your ice cream. Or switch things up by adding other kinds of frozen fruits to the bananas… like berries or peaches. Then pour over a bit of coconut water… and add a bit of mint… blend it and enjoy. Raw vegan chocolate mousse Because… well… afternoon sugar cravings, of course. So, let’s start. Grab 2 avocados Make sure they’re really ripe ones. 2 tablespoons of raw cocoa powder A pinch of salt And a pinch of cinnamon. A couple soaked dates. Or a splash of maple syrup. A bit of vanilla essence. And a glub of your favorite plant-based milk. Like almond or soy. You’ll probably need a quarter-cup of it. Then guess what? Yep! Just throw it in together and blend it until it’s well-combined. But not too runny. Then spoon it into some cute cups… and put into the fridge for at least an hour to chill. You can eat it straight away of decorate it with some mint leaves and berries. It makes a great dinner party desert. See that fluffy deliciousness? Oh my! Let’s get started! For vegan chocolate energy balls you’ll need… One and a half cups of nuts… and half a cup of dates. This is your base. And then you can add extras! Some of my favourite things to add include chia seeds… some flax seeds… a tablespoon of raw cacao powder… and coconut oil. Ooh, and spices! In they go! Nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla… and a pinch of salt would be delicious! Then just blend everything together in your food processor. Once it’s blended into a sticky paste… grab a small amount of it and roll it into a ball. You can then roll them in coconut or cocoa powder for extra yummyness! For a tasty surprise, stick a nut in the middle of the ball! You can even refrigerate them for up to two weeks! That’s if you manage not to eat them all in one day, of course. Energy balls give you that extra energy kick when you feel a little bit tired. They’re ideal when you need a boost to do your homework… or just before your morning run!
